What is Active Feeding?

Active Feeding is a proactive and science-based concept in swine nutrition. It is based on the idea that nutrition should not only meet basic requirements, but also actively contribute to improving resilience, supporting physiological functions and helping pigs cope better with health and management challenges.

In practice, Active Feeding means using nutritional strategies in a targeted and dynamic way to support gut integrity, immune competence, metabolic adaptation and overall productive robustness. It is therefore a broader concept than conventional feeding, because it places nutrition as an active part of prevention and health management.

The concept has been developed in the field of pig production and is closely linked to applied research, technical studies and field experience. Its value lies in integrating scientific knowledge with practical implementation under commercial conditions.
